Introduction: “C” Coy of 5 GUJ BN NCC, Surat has organized a national conference of ANOs and intellectuals connected with fields spread across a wide spectrum of professions. This conference on “The Role of NCC in countering Terrorism, the most serious threat to National Security” is a unique effort, the first of its kind to provide a number of experts from multiple disciplines, a platform for brainstorming and thought stimulation to arrive at a better holistic comprehensive understanding of terrorism from various angles, and to think of remedial measures to address the threat effectively and efficiently.

Aim: The conference has two basic aims.
1. To create and enhance an interdisciplinary awareness, understanding, cognition and recognition of and about various aspects and issues related to terrorism.
2. To initiate an interdisciplinary thought process to arrive at a plan of action for Indian society in general and NCC cadets in particular to counter terrorism.

Call for papers: Papers on subjects related to the subject and aims of the conference are invited from participants in English or Hindi; on or before 1 May, 2008. The paper should be typed on single sides of A4 sized paper with 1” margin on all sides in double line spacing and normal intercharacter and interword spacing in MS Word software in Times New Roman font of point size 12. Papers in Hindi should use all other parameters along with a normal Hindi font. A soft copy of the paper should be sent by e-mail to unmeshpandya@gmail.com along with the hard copy. Participants with papers in Hindi are requested to send the font used along with the soft copy.
